Terms of Service

Effective date: September 19, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Freaking Aliens website, sensor nodes, dashboards, APIs, software, network, and related services.

By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

Using Freaking Aliens

You may use Freaking Aliens only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You are responsible for:

  • your account and login credentials;
  • how and where you install and operate your node;
  • complying with laws that apply to your deployment;
  • ensuring you have permission to install sensors at the location you choose; and
  • how you use information produced by the service.

You may not use Freaking Aliens to interfere with aircraft, communications systems, other users, or our network.

Sensor Data and Network Participation

Freaking Aliens nodes can operate independently or participate in the wider Freaking Aliens network.

Participation in the shared network is optional.

If you choose to participate, your node may contribute sensor observations and derived airspace data to the network. That data may be combined with observations from other nodes to detect, track, identify, or triangulate objects.

You retain ownership of data that you provide to us.

You give Freaking Aliens permission to process that data as necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the services you choose to use.

Hardware and Software

Freaking Aliens hardware and software are provided for airspace detection, tracking, identification, analysis, and related purposes.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute our software except where permitted by law;
  • bypass security or access controls;
  • interfere with the operation of our services;
  • access another user's account or node without permission; or
  • use our services in a way that could damage Freaking Aliens or other users.

We may provide software and firmware updates from time to time.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your credentials secure.

You must notify us if you believe your account or node has been accessed without authorization.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create security risks, or misuse the service.

Payments and Subscriptions

Some Freaking Aliens products and services may require payment or a subscription.

Prices, billing periods, included features, and cancellation terms will be shown when you purchase or subscribe.

Unless otherwise agreed, fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Availability

We aim to keep Freaking Aliens reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Sensor performance may be affected by factors outside our control, including:

  • weather;
  • visibility;
  • obstructions;
  • installation location;
  • network connectivity;
  • sensor limitations;
  • hardware failures; and
  • the characteristics of the object being observed.

Freaking Aliens should not be treated as the sole source of information for safety-critical decisions.

No Guarantee of Detection or Identification

Freaking Aliens is designed to detect, track, and identify airborne objects, but no sensor system can detect or correctly identify every object in every condition.

We do not guarantee that the service will detect every aircraft, drone, object, event, or threat, or that every detection or classification will be correct.

Intellectual Property

Freaking Aliens owns its software, hardware designs, branding, documentation, algorithms, interfaces, and other proprietary technology.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Freaking Aliens intellectual property to you.

Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

Freaking Aliens may integrate with third-party services such as connectivity providers, mapping services, payment processors, or external data sources.

We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

Disclaimer

The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Freaking Aliens disclaims warranties that are not expressly stated in a separate written agreement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Freaking Aliens will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the services.

Our total liability for claims relating to the services will not exceed the amount you paid to Freaking Aliens for the relevant service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to be responsible for claims, damages, or costs arising from your unlawful use of the services, your violation of these Terms, or your installation or operation of a node in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

Ending the Service

You may stop using Freaking Aliens at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, create a security risk, or misuse the service.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will remain in effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will be posted on our website with the updated effective date.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
